HENNGE's Global Internship Program (GIP) is an on-site software engineering training program at its Tokyo headquarters. It is designed for students and early-career engineers who want to grow in a global, English-speaking environment. Japanese is not required.
๐ป Choose Your Engineering Path
- Full-Stack Pathway: Build web applications across back end, front end and basic DevOps. The core stack includes Python, Go or TypeScript, with AWS-based learning and deployment.
- Front-End Pathway: Develop with TypeScript and modern frameworks such as React or Vue, focusing on state management, data fetching and how front ends connect to back-end services and cloud infrastructure.
- The program emphasizes engineering fundamentals, problem-solving and collaboration through hands-on training and dedicated mentorship; it is not production work.
๐ Format, Duration & Language
- Location: HENNGE headquarters in Tokyo, Japan (on-site).
- Duration: 4โ6 weeks, Monday to Friday, 10:00 AMโ7:00 PM JST. The precise length depends on the pathway and batch.
- Language: English. Japanese is not required.
- Compensation: The program is unpaid, with support provided for eligible participants.
๐ Who Can Apply?
Applicants should be third-year undergraduates or above (including Master's and doctoral students), or recent graduates. A Computer Science or related degree is expected; applicants without one should have equivalent experience from a technology internship or bootcamp.
- Fluent English, programming ability relevant to the chosen pathway, and comfort in Linux, macOS or another Unix-like environment.
- Interest in open source or technology communities and in pursuing a career in Japan.
- Applicants must also meet at least three additional pathway-relevant criteria. These can include AWS/cloud experience, full-stack development, Python or Go, distributed systems, DevOps/CI/CD, containers, testing, responsive design, SSO, or UI/UX tools such as Figma.

๐ How the Application Works
- Register through HENNGE's official application portal and verify your email address.
- Complete the coding challenge, then submit your CV, cover letter and internship-batch preferences.
- Successful candidates proceed to an HR interview and then an online interview.
Places in each batch are limited and applications are reviewed as received, so HENNGE encourages early applications. The coding challenge has no time limit; the application is only complete after the documents and batch preferences are submitted. Training assignments must be your own workโHENNGE does not permit AI-generated code for solutions.
